NIGHT OUT — the national crime prevention event

Night Out Meadowbrook 2023

Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 — 6:30pm to 9:30pm
@ the intersection of Alton Avenue NE and NE 107th Street

The Meadowbrook Community Council, The City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, and the Seattle Police Department are happy to announce the return of the Night Out Block Party & Potluck on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 at the intersection of Alton Avenue NE and NE 107th Street.

Our neighborhood hosts are providing hotdogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, cold drinks, chips, and toppings. We will have on hand plates, cups, flatware, napkins, and sanitation supplies for everyone’s use.

If you would like to bring a favorite dish or salad or dessert, YES PLEASE! (see the Night Out Potluck section below). If you would like to have your own food to grill, great, our chefs will cook it to your liking!

There will be games and street chalk and bubbles for young kids, and there will be covered tables with chairs again for those who wish to sit while they enjoy their food. If you wish to bring your own table and/or chairs, feel free to do so.

While face masks are no longer required, if you feel more comfortable wearing one, please do. We hope to make all neighbors welcome and to feel safe during this event. However, please know that we will not be offended if you choose to sit this year’s event out.

Photographs

A number of people will be taking photographs of this year’s event. If you have a camera or wish to take some photos of the event with your phone, please do. If you’d like to share them with the community, we’d be happy to post them in this year’s gallery. To submit photos, you may contact Pam Bowe at pbowe@bowecompany.com. Feel free to provide a caption for the photos and we’d be happy to link to your social media accounts as well if you so desire.

Night Out Potluck

Part of a great party is great food!

We know that people love to share their favorite homemade treats — be it salad, vegetables, or desserts. If you would like to contribute to the block party food selection, please consider the following:

  • Use a plastic container, if at all possible, as to avoid accidental breakage.
  • Write on a piece of tape, your name and email address or phone number, just in case your container gets separated from you, so we may return it.
  • Indicate the ingredients of your dish on a piece of paper or index card that we can taped next to your dish, so people with food allergies can be informed.
  • Bring a serving utensil as needed for your item.
