Travelers should plan for ramp closures at SR 522 and I-5 beginning Aug. 31
SEATTLE – The State Route 522/Lake City Way ramps to and from Interstate 5 will have nightly closures beginning Monday, Aug. 31. People who use these ramps will need to plan for alternate routes.
The northbound I-5 off-ramp to SR 522 and the SR 522 on-ramp to southbound I-5 will close nightly Monday through Thursday beginning at 9 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning.
During the closures, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will grind and repave the ramps. There will be signed detours.
The work is part of a project to repave sections of SR 522, as well as complete pedestrian improvements along Lake City Way.
Drivers can get real-time traffic information on their phone with the WSDOT traffic app, by tracking the WSDOT traffic Twitter feed, and get advanced information from the construction closures page.
