Nathan Hale High School

Nathan Hale High School was originally built in the 1960s and completely remodeled between 2005 and 2011. This renovation brought an entirely new library and performance hall to the school, as well as an artificial turf field and full-size running track.  The redesign of the school won an American Institute of Architects National Award in 2014, and it was named by Business Insiders Magazine as one of the 12 most beautiful schools in the US that same year.  Local radio station KNHC, or C89.5 as it is more commonly known as, has been located at the school since 1969, and is operated by professionals who also teach students practical skills in a unique media course.  C89.5 also holds the distinction as the world’s oldest continually operated dance music station, and is completely owned by Seattle Public Schools.  Nathan Hale High School serves ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth graders, has an enrollment of approximately 1200 students and is home to the Raiders.
